Early in 2016, we announced our Select Technology Partnership with Magento. Today we are pleased to introduce a new Magento 2.0 shopping cart connector for our Shipwire Platform, the next logical step in the Ingram Micro Commerce and Magento relationship.
The updated connector
The new connector, accessible from the Magento Marketplace store, provides merchants with ecommerce order fulfillment, shipping software and cloud-based logistics services from fulfillment centers around the world. Powered by RESTful APIs, the Shipwire Fulfillment Platform connector brings together ecommerce and order fulfillment in four key ways: (1) Order entry sync, (2) Order tracking, (3) Inventory status, (4) Shipping rates.
- Order entry sync – The order entry sync enables orders to be automatically imported from a user’s Magento store into the Shipwire Platform every hour.
- Order tracking – When orders are placed and shipped, the Shipwire Platform pulls all tracking information, including expected delivery dates, so that the merchant and the store owner get complete visibility into their last-mile delivery.
- Inventory status – Inventory in a user’s Shipwire Platform account is synced with their Magento store, allowing inventory status queries to be made globally, by region or by warehouse. Users can also see when inventory will be available next or if it is out of stock.
- Shipping rates – Store owners can offer multiple shipping options to end customers during checkout, thanks to the Shipwire Platform Rates API. The API obtains real-time shipping rates and returns various shipping service level options, including the most cost-effective rate, based on warehouse location, packaging and carrier.
Using the new Magento 2.0 connector, merchants using the Magento platform and Ingram Micro’s Shipwire Platform can easily sync inventory, grow sales, expand into new markets and delight their customers by eliminating many of the typically manual shipping and storage hassles.
