Ingram Micro offers data erasure and drive destruction services onsite at your facility or after transport to one of our locations. Whichever you choose, we ensure sensitive data is permanently erased from your IT assets using internationally–recognized erasure software – or we destroy the hard drives and other data-bearing devices – then provide serialized verification reports.
See Data Destruction for more information.
We track and manage every asset, in real time, regardless of where in the world the asset is collected. From receipt through processing and disposition, our proprietary asset intelligence system, BlueIQ, provides process control, oversight, and a complete, auditable chain-of-custody through a single, global system.
See Chain of Custody for more information.
We offer an array of secure logistics options to suit your requirements, from a network of Ingram Micro trucks that provides direct service to over 80% of U.S.-based clients to a Box Program for small quantities at satellite or remote locations. Our global model not only reduces the cost of freight to our customers, but also total miles driven, reducing vehicle emissions and minimizing both our clients’ and our own carbon footprint.

Our trained onsite service technicians are available to perform hardware de-installations and onsite serialized audits for office and data center environments.

We provide transparent tracking for every asset. Once assets arrive at a Processing Center, each asset is audited, then monitored throughout the disposition process. Hard drives that weren’t erased or shredded at the client location are sanitized during processing. You may view processing milestones for your assets at any time by logging into our comprehensive Client Portal, as well as detailed Audit Report once processing is complete.
We maximize your return. Assets that have residual market value are tested, graded and refurbished for resale. Ingram Micro resells functional assets via multiple retail, direct and wholesale channels for maximum value recovery.
For more on maximizing return, see Asset Recovery.
Ingram Micro responsibly recycles assets that no longer have residual value. All drives and other data-bearing devices are shredded to ensure complete data destruction then equipment de-manufactured into dozens of commodity categories and recycled. Our recycling processes are compliant with local, state, federal and international regulations surrounding e-waste handling – including the Basel Convention – and certified to the highest environmental standards.
